Norfolks Paddleboard Hire company

Our Recommended Locations

Norfolk is rich in its natural resources, not only does it showcase beautiful coastal beaches but it’s also home to over 125 miles of free-flowing rivers and broads’ system. Norwich Paddleboard has personally discovered some of the best places to relax and enjoy nature.

Coastal

Sea Palling

Distance: 17 miles, 40 minutes

Beautiful sand dunes and a boulder sea defence wall give perfect conditions for a gentle calm paddle on the water.

When in Sea Palling, head down “The Marrams” and park near the highlighted spot for free parking and our favourite spot on the beach.

Blakeney

Distance: 26 miles, 57 minutes

Facilities: Toilets, pubs, great local seafood, free/paid parking available.

The estuaries around Blakeney were originally used for transporting spices and cloth into the medieval port of  Blakeney. Now they act as a haven for paddleboards, kayaks and sailing vessels as it leads out to sea. This route is only available when it is high tide so please double check your arrival time.

Cromer

Distance: 22 miles, 50 minutes

Facilities: Paid parking, Toilets, Lifeguards, Local seafood, Pubs, Pier

Cromer has been a popular seaside town for for over a century and is also popular with surfers and SUPs as well. Our SUPS are a great addition to any beach day.

We recommend heading to the right of the pier. Like great coffee? Check out North sea coffee company on the promenade

Inland

Ringland River Green

Distance: 14 miles, 22 minutes

Facilities: Toilets, Pub serving food and drinks, free parking.

At the front of the Swan Inn pub in Ringland is a popular mooring site for a variety of water-sports. As you enter the water, our preferred route is to head initially upstream. Plenty of dragonflies, ducks and fish to see! Then when you return, finish the day with a pub lunch at the swan Inn

Horstead Mill

Distance: 9 miles, 21 minutes

Facilities: Free parking, facilities down stream include food and drink and toilets

A beautiful mill leading into a winding river with minimal current that flows down towards Coltishall. At Coltishall you can moor up on the common and then have a pit stop at the rising sun pub for food and drinks before heading back to Horstead, or if you’re feeling more adventurous , carry on to Wroxham! (Horstead to Wroxham time 3-3.5 hours return)

Hellesdon Mill

Distance: 3.9 miles, 12 minutes

Facilities: Free parking, easy moaring point.

A secluded location with barely anyone else on the water which runs through idyllic meadows with plenty of wildlife. You would never know you are only a few miles from the city centre!

Surlingham

Distance: 7.1 miles, 22 minutes

Facilities: Free parking, toilets, pub food and drinks

Our Favourite spot!

For the more adventurous, park up at the Surlingham ferry pub and enter the water here. If facing away from the inn, head right down the river. 5 minutes later you will see an inland river turning which has a stunning maze of estuaries that lead eventually to the back of the pub! Please ask on the day for details on how to get to this spot. The landlady, Sonia, asks that you call ahead if you plan to park at the pub, especially for large groups, and that you stop by for some food/drinks. 01508 538 659
